Hallowed Ground Magazine, Winter 2022

North Carolina

If one was to look at North Carolina from a bird’s eye view, they’d see a mountainous west, a hilly middle and low, flat ground in the east — adjacent to the Atlantic Ocean. These landscapes most certainly had their impact on American warfare, as they were traversed by disgruntled small farmers, backwoods hunters, southern Patriots under General Greene, Burnside’s “Coast Division” and more. The blood spewed upon these grounds has amounted to a vast history, which you’ll be introduced to within this issue of Hallowed Ground.
