New Market Heights Battlefield

Through the recent efforts of several preservation and conservation groups, including Henrico County, the New Market Heights battlefield is being saved. The American Battlefield Trust preserves land along Kingsland Road which includes a walking trail and interpretive signage. Four Mile Creek Park occupies the location of part of the Confederate line. Nearby Fort Harrison, maintained by the Richmond National Battlefield Park, preserves part of the Confederate defensive works and interprets the stories of the Union attacks there.
