Warrior Legacy: Lieutenant General Ron Coleman
Marine Corps General walks the New Market Heights Battlefield
We had the honor of visiting the New Market Heights battlefield with Ron Coleman, a retired United States Marine Corps lieutenant general. Walking this seminal hallowed ground with a present day military hero was a rewarding experience, as 14 United States Colored Troops, along with two white officers received the Medal of Honor for their valor in this battle. In the film, Coleman walks portions of the New Market Heights battlefield protected by the Trust and the National Park Service, following the footsteps of those soldiers that came before him.
