Help Launch an Educational Video Battlefield Tour through Georgia

You can help send our education team marching through Georgia to help recognize 160 years since the Atlanta Campaign. Our team will record educational videos explaining the history and little-known facts behind each of these places so that everyone can access them, from any device, for free.

We will meet special guests, secure access to restricted and rarely seen places and “work” hard at our labor of love to bring you as much content as possible.

All this content—traveling, shooting, editing, illustrating—takes time and money, but fortunately a generous member has already given $5,000 to ensure this trip gets kicked off on the right foot.

If we can raise $9,700 to fund the trip by May 15, our education team will travel at the end of the month through Georgia. As a special BONUS, anyone who donates will receive a link to an exclusive video from the field—we won’t post this anywhere else—once we get to Georgia.

The Background

The Trust's Education Team has filmed and posted more than 200 Western Theater videos on several trips that you can watch from any device at any location for free!

The locations have included West Virginia, Kentucky, Alabama, the Carolinas, Tennessee, Mississippi and others.

We started these trips in 2020 and with the positive support we’ve received from our members, and we plan to keep them coming! But only if we can raise the proper funds.

With your help, we’ll do even more in the West!

You'll send us to visit and record educational content at plenty of historic sites throughout Georgia, including:

  • Sites of the Atlanta Campaign including Rocky Face Ridge (featuring a campaign overview and a hike). Kennesaw Mountain (visiting again with a new discovery), Civil War cemeteries (all new)

  • National Infantry Museum

  • Andersonville

  • Civil War Naval Museum

  • And more as time allows!

All while also seeing land you have helped us preserve at Rocky Face Ridge, Resaca, and elsewhere.

We’ll include the most special experiences we can arrange, and make sure these videos keep coming! In short, we’ll go crazy, shooting as much as we can at as many places as we can. And with incredibly knowledgeable guests, we will have some differing opinions and expertise—fighting, photos, folklore, artifacts, and more.

As a special BONUS, anyone who donates will receive a link to an exclusive video from the field—we won’t post this anywhere else—once we get to Georgia, perfect for any fan of U.S. history.

Please make your most generous gift today to help us raise the final $9,700 needed to bring the Western Theater Battlefield at Georgia experience online.
