The Lotz House, which has been on the National Historic Register since 1976, is located in the heart of downtown historic Franklin, Tennessee, at “the epicenter” of the Battle of Franklin, which was a pivotal battle of the Civil War on November 30, 1864. Franklin, Tennessee | After the Battle of Franklin, this historic site housed hundreds of the more than six thousand Confederate casualties, leaving the floors permanently blood stained.
Franklin, Tennessee | In November 1864 he fort was abandoned when the Federals withdrew to Nashville during the night, but it was re-occupied two weeks later as Hood's defeated army withdrew from the state.
