Follow the four-day action of Brig. Gen. John Hunt Morgan's raid on this scenic Ohio River community, a well-known shipping and trading center throughout much of the nineteenth century. A free brochure chronicles the Confederate leader's July 6-9, 1863, time here, which included a skirmish on the river and burning of a steamer named the Alice Dean. The brochure is available at the local chamber of commerce office or the public library.
