My name is Ella Dieterlen, a 2022-2023 Youth Leadership Team member, and I have been doing historic crocheting for 8 years. I have been creating numerous pieces to further my civilian impression. In this project, I have decided to look at historic crochet patterns and put them into modern terms for reenactors to be able to reproduce. I have been reenacting a civilian from the time period of the American Civil War for 5 years and have seen a major need for accurately reproduced accessories. With this project, I aim to address that need and give people more opportunity to accurately portray people of that time period through crochet pieces.
