Our FREE 2026 Virtual Teacher Institute is the can't miss online educator event of the summer. The event brings together educators from all over the world, and, over three days, provides interactive sessions headed by engaging and leading experts in the history and education fields.

Educators will be immersed in a friendly, fun, and engaging virtual learning environment on the American Battlefield Trust's webinar platform. Our Virtual Teacher Institute is more than just methodology; it's about making you a better, more well-rounded educator. We hope that you will leave the Institute with a better understanding of your subject matter and a passion for history education.

Registration
Registration for the 2026 Virtual Teacher Institute will open early in 2026. Registration for the event is FREE, but all participants are required to select each session that they wish to attend. Attendance Certificates are available after the event.
How Do I Attend?
- You must register for each session that you plan to attend.
- Attend at least one (1) or more event live webinars.
- You must log in and attend at least one live session for at least 60 minutes.
- Complete an exit survey that will be sent to you after the conclusion of the event.
- Answer YES when asked on the exit survey if you wish to receive an attendance certificate for the event.
- Check the email address that you provided for your certificate starting in September of 2026. Don't forget to check your spam folder, too.
- Download and save your certificate! The custom links for the certificates are supported for a couple of months.
Are you recording the sessions?
Yes, the sessions will be recorded and can be viewed with your login information for up to 60 days after the event.
Can I receive an Attendance Certificate for watching the recordings at a later date?
No, you can only receive a certificate of attendance for attending the live sessions July 20-22, 2026.
How many hours can I receive on my Attendance Certificate?
You can receive up to 16 hours of professional development.
