The Fort Smith Museum of History acquires, preserves, exhibits and interprets objects of historical significance relevant to the founding and growth of the fort and of the region. The history of Fort Smith, including its periods of occupation by both Confederate and Federal forces during the Civil War, is brought to life through the museum's many attractions and exhibits.
