The Grand Army of the Republic Memorial Museum, built and maintained by the National Woman's Relief Corps, Auxiliary to the Grand Army of the Republic, Inc., serves as a living memorial to the G.A.R.. The museum contains relics and weaponry of the Civil War as well as documents, photos, badges, ribbons, and souvenirs of the G.A.R. and W.R.C. Interpretive panels help tell the story of who the G.A.R. was, what they did, and of their efforts that helped create Memorial Day. Other panels and displays tell the story and work of the W.R.C., Politics in the G.A.R., Civil War prisons, and more. Other stories are told through digital media.
