Upcoming Event
Saturday, April 13, 2024 @ 9:00 AM - 11:30 AM EDT

Henrico, VA

For More Information
Meeting place
We will meet at 8:45AM at the Malvern Hill Battlefield on the farm road just south of Willis Church Road (Here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/YLkuKGZfS5jygxmY8)

We will begin work immediately following the 9:00AM ranger talk and continue until 11:30AM. Please wear long pants, long sleeves and sturdy closed toed shoes. Depending on recent weather, the area may be muddy. Bring work gloves, water and any snacks you might need. There will be a water jug for refilling water bottles.
Planned Activities
Following the ranger talk, volunteers will work to remove invasive brush from the forest and cultural landscape. Chinese privet has created a thicket that weakens the health of the native forest species and blocks the battlefield landscape from view.
History or Educational Activities
There will be an interpretive talk at 9:00AM about the Malvern Hill battle and landscape.
Should I bring any tools or supplies?
Please wear long pants, long sleeves and sturdy closed toed shoes. Depending on recent weather, the area may be muddy. Bring work gloves, water and any snacks you might need. There will be a water jug for refilling water bottles.

Feel free to bring your own loppers if you have a pair you prefer.
Is there a rain date?
In the instance of inclement weather, Park Day will be moved to April 20, 2024 (same time).
