Meeting place

Participants should park on the right side of Crawford and Warren Avenues. We will be meeting at the top of Devil’s Den by the 4th NY Battery monument.
Planned Activities
The staff of the Gettysburg National Military Park invites you to join us for Park Day 2025. Our clean up day will focus on the Triangular Field. It was through these fields that Confederate forces would push back the Union line taking the area of Devil’s Den. We will focus on removing overgrown brush, dead vegetation and any invasive species located in the area to maintain an open landscape and protect biological diversity.
History or Educational Activities
Park staff will give a quick overview of the battle in that area to help our volunteers understand the importance of the landscape as part of the introduction.
Should I bring any tools or supplies?
All tools will be provided by the park. Volunteers are encouraged to wear clothes designed for working in brush. Long pants, long sleeves and a hat are recommended. Boots or other closed toe shoes are required. Volunteers are also encouraged to bring a water bottle. Bug Spray and Sunscreen is recommended.
Is there a rain date?
In the instance of inclement weather, Park Day will continue as planned.
Please note
Volunteers will be working in a field without trails so they should expect uneven ground and brush coverage. Volunteers should be able to stand for several hours as well as easily bend and carry tools several feet.
