Bring your kids, grandkids, neighbors, and friends and march in the footsteps of the past and help to instill in young people a lifelong passion for history.
Join the American Battlefield Trust at Manassas Battlefield for this special “Generations” event, designed to help adults share their passion for history with younger people.
On July 21, 1861, the first major battle of the American Civil War was fought near Manassas, Virginia. Here, two volunteer armies clashed for the first time and legendary moments entered our nation's history. As we gather for this Generations Event, we gather to learn and have an exciting hands-on-history experience.
Learn to march, outmaneuver your opponent, wear a kepi, gaze at historic photographs through 3D glasses, and learn about one of the turning point days in American military history.
The event is free and open to all who come with someone of another generation. The ideal ages are 6-17.
Featuring:
- The school of the soldier
- Outflank and charge your opponent!

The event begins at 9:30 am but you may want to arrive a few minutes early to park and secure a uniform piece for your kids.
