The city of Trenton has grown significantly over the centuries, and much of the area where the Battle of Trenton took place is now covered by modern streets, buildings, and other infrastructure. Some key historic sites remain preserved, such as the Trenton Battle Monument, which marks the location of American artillery during the battle. At Trenton, George Washington scored his first victory of the Revolution and set the precedent for the coming Ten Crucial Days.

Today, the monument sits in the urban center of Trenton, but is a mile walk away from the historic Old Barracks that once housed troops from both sides of the American Revolution.
