George Armstrong Custer Equestrian Monument

This statue is meant to commemorate General George Custer, who grew up in Monroe and would go on to become famous as a daring young cavalryman in the Civil War, fighting in the battles of Bull Run, Shenandoah, Waynesboro, Appomattox, and many others.
