The Confederate Soldiers Monument is located on the historic south grounds of the Texas State Capitol, near the Congress Avenue entrance gates. Construction of the monument began in 1900 and was completed in 1903. It consists of bronze figures representing infantry, cavalry, Confederate states, and battles fought between 1861 and 1865. Pompeo Coppini executed the bronze figures and Frank Teich erected the monument.
