Fort Washington

Today, the site of Fort Washington, where the final devastating chapter in George Washington’s disastrous New York Campaign took place, is located in Bennett Park in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Manhattan in New York City. Commemorating the 1776 battle is a marble, bronze, and granite stele and sculpture by Charles R. Lamb along the park's eastern perimeter dedicated in 1901.
