Fort Pulaski Battlefield

Located on Cockspur Island near the end of U. S. Route 80, Fort Pulaski National Monument preserves one of the few surviving "third system" brick and mortar coastal forts of the early 19th century.  Artillery displays and soldier barracks are inside the fort, and outside are a bookstore, visitor center and several walking trails.
