Saving Harpers Ferry: Allstadt's Corner

Trust Transfers Historic Land to the National Park Service

On August 17, 2019 the American Battlefield Trust celebrated transferring an important and historic 13 acres of Harpers Ferry to the National Park Service. The Allstadt property, built circa 1790, played an important role in John Brown’s 1859 raid on the federal arsenal, and the surrounding farm also saw action during the 1862 Civil War Battle of Harpers Ferry.
