At the 1864 Democratic National Convention, the Democratic Party nominated former Union General George B. McClellan.  The Democrats called for a speedy conclusion to the war and an end to notions of emancipation.  Negotiations with the Confederacy were discussed in what came to be known as the "Chicago Platform."  This broadside clearly outlines all of the major components of the Democratic Platform for the 1864 election.
