Lee’s Headquarters: Mary Thompson House

Gettysburg, Pa.

This AR experience recreates Mary Thompson tending to wounded soldiers during the Battle of Gettysburg. After the fighting on July 1, 1863, wounded men from both armies were brought to the Thompson House on Seminary Ridge, which also served as Gen. Robert E. Lee’s headquarters. Thompson remained at her home throughout the battle, caring for wounded soldiers and using her clothes and bedding as dressings for their wounds.

Please note that this content was originally created to be seen on-site at Lee's Headquarters, where a recreation of the dog house can be seen onsite. We have made the characters and information points available so that it may be viewed anywhere.
