Planned Activities
We will cut vegetation within a Civil War trench and 2 gun artillery redan, which remain from General Johnston's Chattahoochee River Line in Cobb County, Georgia. The vegetation maintenance is necessary for visitors to view the Civil War earthworks described by the park interpretive signs. If feasible, we may also work on wisteria (invasive vines) removal in another section of the park.
History or Educational Activities
Shoupade Park is a 2 acre historic pocket park within a residential community. It contains Civil War earthworks from the 6 mile Johnston's Chattahoochee River Line, including 2 Shoupade infantry forts, an artillery redan, and connecting trench line between them. There are interpretive signs within the park. Shoupade Park is listed on the Cobb County Historic Register. Learn more at https://riverline.org/parks.
