Meeting place
Volunteers can arrive at between 10-11am to our information table. The information table will be located inside the park's demonstration area. The volunteers can head to the address above and we will have directive signs to our demonstration area which is located across from our Visitor Center.
Planned Activities
Our regular visitor center operations, park movie and junior ranger booklets. The booklets contain puzzles and questions about the park, revolutionary war (specifically The Battle of the Moores Creek Bridge) and our history trail. Once completed, participants can earn badges and patches. More conservation work TBD closer to the event.
History or Educational Activities
The event will include colonial demonstrations, guided tours and education stations like; naval stores, candlemaking, blacksmith shop, colonial foodways, historic weapons and musket demonstrations.
Should I bring any tools or supplies?
Volunteers do not have to bring any materials, but if they prefer, they are urged to bring a reusable water bottle, sunscreen and bug spray.
Is there a rain date?
In the instance of inclement weather, Park Day will continue as planned.
Please note
There will be a waiver to complete the day of volunteering. It is short, informative paperwork. Volunteers who want to participate in event long term can fill out additional paperwork if interested.
