Meeting place
We ask that you arrive at 8:30 am for registration in the battlefield conference center. At 9:00 am there will be an orientation to the day's projects and introduction of the project leaders. Work projects will stop at noon followed by lunch on your own. Kernstown Battlefield Association volunteers will be on the property until 4 pm for those who wish to participate in short historical tours of the property.
We ask that you consider donating to the Kernstown Battlefield. We are a 501c(3) non-profit, all volunteer organization. Our mission is to protect and interpret this Civil War Battlefield for the benefit of all future generations. We are located at 610 Battle Park Drive, Winchester, Virginia 22601, off of Valley Avenue (U.S. Route 11) next to Creekside Station and the Subaru dealership. Planned Activities
Planned Activities include:
• Sweeping and dusting of buildings and artifact showcases.
• Painting the Artillery Building exterior window trim (weather dependent).
• Cleaning the surfaces of building entrance doors and windows.
• Mulching gardens.
• Picking up fallen limbs.
• Cleaning and weeding around interpretive signs and their pedestals.
Projects are indoors and outdoors. Several of our museums are not heated. While we do not require you to bring any tools or supplies, we do ask that you wear weather-appropriate apparel, work clothes and shoes, and gloves. COVID masks are optional. In the instance of inclement weather, our Park Day projects will continue as planned.

History or Educational Activities
Between 12 noon and 4 pm, tours of the battlefield property where guides describe Civil War military actions, and the historic Pritchard House where 5 generations of the Pritchard family lived will be available.
Should I bring any tools or supplies?
No tools required. Please bring work gloves and appropriate outdoors work clothing.
