Volunteers can meet at the Etheridge Point beach in Fort Raleigh National Historic Site. From Park Headquarters (1401 National Park Drive, Manteo, NC 27954), turn on Pear Pad Road and follow that one-half mile until the road ends at Etheridge Point. Park Day activities will be held from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Volunteers will be helping remove litter from the beach at Etheridge Point. As time allows the group may move to nearby shoreline areas for litter removal.
History or Educational Activities
Meet at 10:00 AM to participate in a short presentation about the Civil War battle of Roanoke Island and the nearby location of a Civil War camp.
Should I bring any tools or supplies?
All volunteers are encouraged to wear thick-soled footwear, gloves, and comfortable work clothing. Bring water, snacks, and a bag lunch. Feel free to invite your friends, family members, neighbors, or co-workers to join you!
Is there a rain date?
In the instance of inclement weather, Park Day will be moved to Saturday, April 22, 2023, from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM.
