Meeting place
Volunteers should arrive to Camp Nelson National Monument at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 1, 2023. Planned Activities
National Park Service (NPS) staff and volunteers will paint cannon carriages! The carriages were transferred to Camp Nelson National Monument from Shiloh National Military Park in 2022. NPS staff will provide an overview of Camp Nelson during the Civil War, especially its role as supply depot, hospital depot, and recruitment center for the US Army.
Should I bring any tools or supplies?
All painting tools will be provided by the NPS. Volunteers should wear old long sleeve shirts and pants.
