Meeting place
At 10:00 am, meet at Stratford Historical Society which is across the street on Academy Hill at 967 Academy Hill, Stratford, CT 06615. Later arrivals can meet us at the Veteran's Memorial at in the Academy Hill park.
Planned Activities
On Park Day we plan to plant red, white, and blue native perennial plants around the Veteran's Memorial located in the park.
History or Educational Activities
Did you know Academy Hill used to be called Watchhouse Hill? See pictures and hear stories of Academy Hill's role in protecting Stratford in the 17th century through today's use of the site honoring our veterans!
Should I bring any tools or supplies?
Bring your gardening gloves, shovels, spades, rakes, gardening hand tools, a hat, and a friendly attitude.
Is there a rain date?
In the instance of inclement weather, Park Day will be moved to Sunday, April 26, 2026.
Please note
Street parking is available on Academy Hill. There are no facilities in the park, however the Stratford Historical Society museum will be open to event volunteers for use of our facilities.
