Newcomer Porch Program: Middle Bridge Walk

For this year's first Newcomer Porch Program on Sunday, April 13, former National Park Service ranger Matthew Penrod will lead a guided walking tour covering the Middle Bridge part of the Battle of Antietam. Following the Tidball Trail, Mr. Penrod's talk will encompass the history of the Newcomer House and the surrounding area as well as the battle. Hikes will start at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on the west side of the Newcomer House located at 18422 Shepherdstown Pike, Keedysville, MD.

The Tidball trail is 3/10 of a mile each way and has a five to fifteen degree incline on somewhat uneven ground. The walk will last approximately one hour. Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear and bring your own water

Program is free; park entrance fee is $20/vehicle.
