Artillery Roars Again at Fort Donelson

While we won’t be firing “live” rounds, our National Park Service Volunteers with park staff will offer talks and demonstrations this Saturday.  The Fort Donelson crew will man the six-pound cannon.  Both the United States and Confederate militaries depended upon the power and force of rifled and smoothbore artillery during the 1862 battle.  

Stop by and talk with a National Park interpreter about the artillery and work on your Junior Ranger Handbook.  

Demonstrations will be held at the main park entrance, 120 Fort Donelson Park Road, Dover, TN at 11:00 am and completing by 3:00 pm.

Parking is adjacent to the Fort Donelson NB Visitor Center.

In case of inclement weather, demonstrations may be postponed.  Please check the park’s website and Facebook for updates.
