Dr. Timothy B. Smith, a former NPS ranger at Shiloh, teaches history at the University of Tennessee at Martin. He is the author of numerous books including Corinth 1862: Siege, Battle, Occupation and Shiloh: Conquer or Perish, both published by the University Press of Kansas.
