Sriya Tallapragada

Sriya Tallapragada,  of New Providence, New Jersey, is a member of the 2022-2023 American Battlefield Trust Youth Leadership Team. 

Sriya hopes to highlight youth voices on the importance of women in war history through writing and art, culminating in publishing a children's book. 

“I grew up visiting American battlefields and learning about the history surrounding them. It often upset me when I told classmates about my experiences, and realized that many did not have access to visiting and learning about battlefields growing up. After all, battlefields are a reminder of all the bloodshed and work it took to bring forth the freedom that we currently have. To me, historical prevention is making the opportunity to see history in our community accessible and part of the education experience growing up."—Sriya Tallapragada
