Mark H. Dunkelman

Mark H. Dunkelman is a historian, artist, and musician. Inspired by his great-grandfather's stories, he began his research on the 154th New York Volunteer Infantry. He has contacted over 1,000 descendants of the "Hardtack Regiment," locating and building a collection of wartime letters, photographs, diaries, relics, and other items which adds to the known accounts and details of the 154th New York. Dunkelman also organizes descendant reunions and spearheaded the project to place the 154th New York monument at Chancellorsville.
