Dale Watson

Throughout this website, on TheLibertyTrail.org, and on the American Revolution Experience online exhibition, visitors will find custom illustrations by South Carolina-based artist Dale Watson. In creating his unique art, Watson uses historical descriptions, images, and other resources to make portraits for historical figures and illustrations for larger scenes to depict events during the 18th century. If no image exists of a figure, American Battlefield Trust historians work to represent what that person may have looked like though extensive research, diving into the details of their background such as what they would have worn and carried during this period of history, and what their descendants looked like.
