| Built in 1793, Slater Mill was America's first water-powered textile mill, bringing the Industrial Revolution to the United States. Samuel Slater was able to bring his knowledge of English mills in secret, as the English government prevented the movement of plans and people experienced in the field during and after the Revolution. |
