Sand Creek Massacre Site

The Sand Creek Massacre National Historic Site is located about 9 miles north of Chivington, Colorado.  A walking trail with some interpretive waysides leads to the Monument Hill area and viewing overlook above Sand Creek. Ranger led interpretive programs are scheduled daily. The site of the massacre is much the same as it would have looked in 1864.
