Explore the landscape where British General Charles Cornwallis set a trap for patriots under the Marquis de Lafayette on July 6, 1781, directly preluding the Siege of Yorktown. The brief battle was a British victory, with British forces vastly outnumbering the patriots. Part of the battlefield is private land, but limited parking is available for visitors to explore several historical markers along a biking and walking path that connects to nearby interpretive trails exploring the history and ecology of the area.
