California native Kyle Thompson, former chef, musician, and victim of ALS or Lou Gehrig’s Disease, recorded a CD of original and period music at Civil War battlefields across the nation to draw attention to the need for preservation.  He donated the proceeds from the sale of his music to the Civil War Trust, resulting in the preservation of key parts of the Gettysburg and Appomattox battlefields.
