Welcome to Culpeper Battlefields State Park
It’s a celebration nearly 30 years in the making! On June 8, 2024, Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin cut the ribbon officially opening Culpeper Battlefields State Park, the system’s 43rd unit. That action was the fulfilment of preservation activities at the Brandy Station, Cedar Mountain, Kelly’s Ford and Rappahannock Station battlefields dating back to the mid 1990s. Piece by piece, the American Battlefield Trust and its partners assembled a critical of these historic landscapes and are now proud to donate them to the Commonwealth of Virginia for perpetual stewardship and interpretation. Learn about the 19th century history of these sites and their modern journey from endangered battlefield to public treasure.
