We Need You for National Public Lands Day
Shiloh National Military Park
Shiloh, TN 38376
RESCHEDULED - Saturday, October 12, is National Public Lands Day (NPLD). NPLD is the largest single volunteer workday on public lands of the year!
Join Shiloh National Military Park as we clean up, maintain, and improve national park lands in Corinth, Mississippi. The park is seeking helping hands to clean bronze sculptures and spread new mulch at the Corinth Contraband Camp. If time permits secondary projects will include cleaning bronze sculptures and pulling weeds from landscaping at the Corinth Civil War Interpretive Center.
On the 28th, at 9:00 am, volunteers will gather at the Corinth Civil War Interpretive Center at 501 W Linden Street, Corinth, before driving to the Contraband Camp as a group to start work. Work will not last beyond 12:00 p.m. and may end sooner depending upon how fast the work group accomplishes its tasks.
Please wear clothes that you can get dirty and wet in, bring a hat to wear, sunscreen to apply, and water to drink. Foul weather will postpone the workday.
If you are interested in volunteering your time and talent, please call the Corinth Civil War Interpretive Center to sign up and help your public lands. Rangers there can be reached at (662) 287-9273 between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm any day of the week.
