Special Event

October 9, 2025 | Battlefield Memorial March
The Coastal Heritage Society will honor those who fought in the 1779 Battle of Savannah, one of the most pivotal moments in both Savannah’s Revolutionary War story and the broader American struggle for independence. The annual Battlefield Memorial March will retrace the footsteps of soldiers on that historic day. Participants should gather at the Savannah History Museum parking lot at 8:45 a.m.; the march will step off at 9:00 a.m. Following the march, a solemn wreath-laying and remembrance ceremony will be held at Battlefield Park. This event is free and open to the public.
