The Desire Tobey Sears Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution and the American Battlefield Trust are excited to feature the American Revolution Experience at the Republic County Historical Society and Museum from August 27 - September 7, 2024.
The innovative pop-up exhibition includes display panels and interactive digital kiosks that use storytelling, illustration, technology and unique artifacts and primary accounts to connect modern audiences with the people and places that shaped the birth of our nation.
The exhibit will be open the following hours:
- August 28, 2024: 1 pm - 7 pm
- August 29-30, 2024: 1 pm - 4 pm
- August 31, 2024: 9 am - 7 pm
- Sept 1, 2024: 1 pm - 5 pm
- Sept 2-6, 2024: 9 am = 7 pm
- Sept 7, 2024: 9 am - 1 pm
Ongoing Events:
- Boston Tea Party with a Photo Op: Take a picture with a replica of the Robinson Half Chest and enjoy samples of Bohea Tea that will be available.
- Coloring Contest for All Ages: Join our ongoing coloring contest, open to both children and adults, throughout the exhibition. Be sure to submit your entries by September 7, 2024, for a chance to win exciting prizes.
Special Events:
- The Sons of the American Revolution will be on hand on Tuesday, September 3, and Wednesday, September 4, 24024.
- Saturday, August 3, 24024 at 10:00 am: The Boy Scouts of Mankato will present the colors and lead those present in the Pledge of Allegiance. Light refreshments will be served.
- Wednesday, September 4, 2024: Join us for "What Is It?" Wednesday explore a collection of intriguing and unusual items on display. Test your curiosity and knowledge by guessing what each item is and its intended use.
