Traveling Exhibition at Fort Necessity National Battlefield Visitor Center

The Fort Necessity Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution and the American Battlefield Trust are excited to feature the American Revolution Experience at the Fort Necessity National Battlefield Visitor Center from June 14 - July 7, 2024. The innovative pop-up exhibition includes display panels and interactive digital kiosks that use storytelling, illustration, technology and unique artifacts and primary accounts to connect modern audiences with the people and places that shaped the birth of our nation. 

The exhibit will be open the following hours:

• Daily, 9 AM - 5 PM ET

Special Events

• Join park staff and volunteers on the anniversary of the battle at Fort Necessity. For the 3:00 PM program, we will include the reading of the names of the soldiers who died July 3, 1754. We will also have daily programs, with the addition of artillery in the historic weapons demonstrations.
• Celebrating the 270th Anniversary of the Battle of Fort Necessity on July 3, 2024
• Daily at 10:30 AM, 12:30 PM, and 2:30 PM, join ranger-led fort walks
• Daily at 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM, join us for "Living History with Historical Weapons" demonstrations

Other Events

• Join us on the 270th Anniversary of the Jumonville Glen Skirmish for a guided walk-through of the events of the skirmish and the events that led to the battle at Fort Necessity. There will be a guided walk-through of the Jumonville Glen incident early morning, and then ranger-led fort walks at Fort Necessity National Battlefield at 10:30 AM, 12:30 PM and 2:30 PM, with Living History and historic weapons demonstrations at 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM.
