The Esther McCrory Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution and the American Battlefield Trust are excited to feature the American Revolution Experience at the Amarillo Public Library from October 8, 2024 through October 22, 2024.

The innovative pop-up exhibition includes display panels and interactive digital kiosks that use storytelling, illustration, technology and unique artifacts and primary accounts to connect modern audiences with the people and places that shaped the birth of our nation. 

The exhibit will be open the following hours:

  • Monday through Thursday: 9 am - 7:30 pm
  • Friday and Saturday: 9 am - 6 pm
  • Sunday: 2 pm - 6 pm

Grand Opening Reception
Saturday, October 12, 2024 | 2 pm - 4 pm
Join us for a celebration of the American Revolution Experience with characters in period costume, refreshments, and materials from our library collection focused on the American Revolutionary War.
Hosted by Esther McCrory Chapter of the NSDAR, Molly Goodnight Chapter of NSDAR, Panhandle Plains Chapter of Sons of the American Revolution and Friends of the Amarillo Public Library. 

Film Screening: "The Shot Heard Round the World - The Coming of the American Revolution"
Saturday, October 19, 2024 | 2 pm (Doors open at 1:30pm)
This critically acclaimed documentary chronicles te settlement of the original thirteen American colonies and explores the roots and causes of America's war for independence. Hosted by Friends of the Amarillo Public Library.
