Star Party at Harpers Ferry

Discover the Park after Dark!

 

Join us for an evening under the stars as we explore the importance of dark night skies. Enjoy a guest presentation, participate in fun activities for kids, and end the evening stargazing through telescopes or with the naked eye!

 

At 6:00 PM, lunar geologist Zach Morse will present “A Brief History of the Moon, and How We Are Going Back.” This ~20-minute talk will explore the Moon’s origins and evolution, with a short virtual tour of features visible from Earth. Zach will also discuss NASA’s Artemis Program and the return of humans to the Moon. Q&A to follow. This program is rain or shine, held on the second floor of the former Anthony Hall, 51 Mather Place.

 

Head to Murphy-Chambers Farm, 123 Murphy Road, anytime from dusk - 10:00 PM for stargazing with the TriState Astronomers! Bring a lawn chair or blanket and dress for cool mountain nights. Insect repellent is recommended. Please note that pets and alcoholic beverages are not permitted.
