Special Tour of the Battle of Mine Run

The Friends of Wilderness Battlefield (FOWB) is pleased to offer a special tour of the Battle of Mine Run to our members on Saturday, September 23, 2023, from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM. A second tour will be open to the general public from 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM. FOWB members get first chance to sign up, of course! FOWB member and owner of Battlefield Tours of Virginia, John Kanaster, will be our tour guide and he will meet everyone by 7:50 AM for the first tour, and by 12:50 PM for the second tour, in the parking lot of the Locust Grove Town Center. Look for the Highway Marker that talks about the Mine Run Campaign. (It's by Rt 20 across from the Mexican Food Restaurant.)

Each tour is limited to 22 people, as that is the capacity that the tour bus allows. Sign up is first come, first serve, so please sign up as soon as possible so we can save you a seat! There will be a waiting list, so if you need to cancel, please do so no later than Wednesday, September 20, so the next person on the waiting list can have your seat!

FOWB is picking up the cost of these tours, so please don't sign up and then not show up! This is a fantastic opportunity, and we are pleased to be able to offer it to you!

Please RSVP to Beth Stenstrom no later than Wednesday, September 20, so we know how many people are coming! These tours will fill up quickly, so the sooner you RSVP, the better! Please tell her which tour you want to take, plus the names of everyone who will be touring with you, so we can have your nametags ready!

Parking: Please park in the middle parking section of the shopping center away from the Exxon station section, using the rows that face the road.
