Sing, Dance, & Be Merry: Linda Russell in Concert
Partner Event
May 24 - 24, 2025 @ 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM EDT
Fort Stanwix National Monument
Rome, NY 13440
On Saturday afternoon and evening May 24, Balladeer Linda Russell will be at Fort Stanwix National Monument to present concerts of 18th century music.
From 1 to 4:30 pm on Saturday afternoon, Ms. Russell will present informal performances in the East Barracks. The fort will reopen at 6:30 pm for a formal evening concert beginning at 7:00 pm. The park has limited seating available, so visitors are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs. In the event of rain, the concert will take place in the fort’s Gregg Barracks.
Accompanying herself on hammered and mountain dulcimers, guitar and penny whistle, Linda Russell explores history through music. Having served for many years as a balladeer for the National Park Service at Federal Hall on Wall Street, the site of Washington’s inauguration, Ms. Russell now performs her music throughout the country.
“Linda Russell has become a bit of an institution at the park” said park ranger William Sawyer. She first performed at Fort Stanwix in 1977, and has returned to share her music for many years since then.”
