An Interactive Performance
Historic Gloucester Court House
6504 Main St
Gloucester, VA 23061
On Sunday, May 7, 2023, at 2 PM inside the historic Gloucester Court House the Gloucester Museum of History, Gloucester Historical Society, and the Friends of the Gloucester Museum of History are hosting an interactive living history performance of the 1773 Baptist Preacher Trial that took place in nearby Chesterfield, Virginia. This educational program is free and open to the public. It will feature a first-person historical interpreter and audience participation.
As we commemorate the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, the Baptist Preacher Trail is crucial in helping to understand why freedom of religion was so important to all Virginians during the Revolutionary-era.
