Homeschool families are invited to attend a field trip day on Friday, September 12, from 9:30 am – 4:00 pm. Registration is required.

At the visitor center, explore reading and writing activities from story time with Republic Branch Library to making your own Civil War letters home.

At Ray House, learn more about Missouri state history with activities provided by battlefield staff and volunteers and guests from History Museum on the Square. Ray House tours will be available throughout the day.

Explore the watershed of Wilson’s Creek with park scientists and educators from the NPS Heartland Monitoring Network, Project Learning Tree, and H2Ozarks Cleaner Water Together.

Complete the circuit by walking the hallowed ground of Bloody Hill to learn more about how soldiers prepared for and fought during the Battle of Wilson's Creek.

To make a reservation, call us at 417-732-2662 ext. 233. Reservations are limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. More information below.

Check-in starts at the visitor lawn and will be available starting at 9:00 am. Junior Ranger program booklets will also be available at check-in. Activity stations at the visitor center and Ray House will run from 10 am to noon with start times at 10am, 10:30am, 11 am and at Stop 5 and Stop 7 starting every half hour 1 pm - 3pm. Programs can be completed in a series that includes all locations or a la carte based on your interest.

Programs are grouped by ages but participants are not restricted to stations based on age. Choose which topics are of most interest. Groups may split up at a site as long as parents remain on site with the youngest participants in the group.

Note: Program times and topics are subject to change based on weather and staff availability.
