5831 Dunker Church Rd
Sharpsburg, MD 21782
On Grandparents’ Day, bring your kids, grandkids, neighbors, and friends and march in the footsteps of Civil War soldiers at Antietam National Battlefield. This afternoon of high energy activities and a history hike will help to instill a lifelong interest in history! Join the American Battlefield Trust and the Antietam Institute for this special Generations event, designed to help adults share their passion for history with younger people.

The Battle of Antietam marked a turning point in the American Civil War. Come take a guided, family-friendly hike with stops along the way to explore history! Try on wool uniforms, learn to drill, examine historic photographs and more as we trace the stories and footsteps of Union soldiers as they rushed toward the Sunken Road.
This event is free, but space is limited since afternoon admission to Antietam National Battlefield is included with registration.
