Free Lecture: The Hite and Bowman Families in the Virginia Continental Line

Belle Grove's Annual Meeting on Sunday, September 14 at 3 p.m. is free and open to the public. After a brief business meeting, the featured speaker will be Gabriel Neville who will speak about "The Hite and Bowman Families in the Virginia Continental Line" in honor of the upcoming 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, the Revolutionary War, and the Independence of the United States. Gabriel Neville is the author of the newly released book The Last Men Standing: The 8th Virginia Regiment in the American Revolution and copies of the book will be available for sale at the event. Mr. Neville has also authored numerous articles on Virginia, Pennsylvania, and the frontier in the Revolutionary era. His research has appeared in the Journal of the American Revolution, Emerging Revolutionary War Era, The American Battlefield Trust, the Philadelphia Inquirer, and county historical society journals. He is the creator of the Revolutionary Virginia and 8th Virginia Regiment websites. He also writes occasionally on public policy issues. A former journalist and congressional staffer, he is a business consultant at Covington & Burling LLP, a Washington-based international law firm. He was raised in Chester County, Pennsylvania, and now lives with his family in Fairfax County, Virginia.
